Information Management & Technology

Information Management

Information management describes the means by which a practice collects, organises and uses information. In general practice good information management means improved clinical, patient and practice outcomes. Information supports clinical decision making, business planning and the delivery of effective services to the practice population.

Secure Electronic Messaging

eHealthWA (Department of Health) have been pursuing a secure messaging solution for WA health. The WA General Practice Network and local GP Networks will work closely with eHealthWA to ensure that there is on-going consultation in regard to the implementation strategy, clinical input and GP representation in regard to governance and design modification of this secure messaging solution.

Information will be provided to GP down south general practitioners as this progresses in 2009/2010.
