Community Child Health Program
(Busselton, Dunsborough, Cowaramup, Margaret River, Augusta, Eaton, Treendale and Brunswick)
GP down south in collaboration with WA Country Health Service- South West provide a universal and targeted prevention, detection and early intervention program for children aged between 0 and 4 years of age.
- To increase the uptake of child health services for 0-4 year olds, particularly in at risk and disadvantaged groups.
- To develop an integrated approach for families to access child health services in partnership with GP practices, childcare providers, primary schools, playgroups and other community groups.
- To provide families access to a child health nurse in a variety of settings and the ability to make online bookings for appointments at these sites.
Community Child Health Nurses are experienced Registered Nurses who have a variety of nursing and other qualifications including child and family health.
They will visit families with babies and young children at home as well providing appointment sessions.
GP down south Community Child Health Nurses, work in partnership with parents and carers who have babies and/or young children until they reach four years of age.
