Earlier in the year the mental health team prepared and submitted an abstract to present at the biennial Rural and Remote Mental Health conference which is run by WACHS.
Halls Head resident John Nye has completed his epic unsupported solo motorbike ride around Australia.
John left from Mandurah Police Station in the early hours of 12th October 2017, to begin the solo ride around the country to raise awareness and funds for Peel Youth Medical Services and GP down south.
Peel Mobile Health Service (PMHS) participated in this year’s Waroona Show promoting other GP down south services including Peel Youth Medical Services (PYMS) and Nidjalla Waangan Mia (NWM). We also partnered with The Family Support Service Staff (Waroona and Harvey Shires) and staff from Waroona pharmacy (Terry White Chemmart). Jointly we promoted health and wellbeing, engaged with the community and enjoyed a fun day.
October 2017 Mental Health Week Activities
GP down south staff were involved in a couple of events for Mental Health Week. In Peel, the staff set up on the Mandurah Foreshore for Peel Wellness Wednesday and in the south west, the Busselton team took a Walk for Wellness down the iconic Busselton Jetty.
We welcome Graham Hope to the Senior Management Team. In the newly created role of Regional Manager SW, Graham will oversee our South West programs and services.
