Parenting Support Program

Parenting Program - 2018

GP down south is piloting a new Parenting Program in the South West. Funded by WACHS the new program spans the regions of Bunbury/Harvey, Leschenault, Wellington, Naturaliste, and Warren Blackwood.

The Parenting Program is trialling a new service delivery model and is aimed at providing home-based intensive parenting support to families. Our goal is to help children aged 0-5 years (birth to school entry) to successfully achieve all significant health and developmental milestones and be ready for school.

Program staff will visit families in their home and support parents and carers with concerns they might have in areas of play, nutrition, routines, safety, sleep, toilet training and preparing for school.

They will also work with the families to put them in touch with support networks and find community activities like playgroups.

For more information call GP down south on 9754 3662, email the Parenting Support Team or ask your Child Health Nurse for a referral.
